About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Payoff Home Loan Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000), holder of Australian Credit Licence 000000 ("we", "us" or "our"), handles your personal information. We take your privacy seriously and manage your information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

It applies to everyone we deal with — people who ask us about a home loan, friends introduced to us by someone they know, and Members who introduce their friends to us. This policy was last updated in June 2026.

What personal information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you deal with us. For a person looking into a home loan, it is usually the information a broker needs to assist you and a lender needs to assess an application.

  • Contact details — your name, email address and phone number.
  • Financial details — your income, expenses, assets, liabilities and the loan or property you are considering, where you are seeking credit assistance.
  • Identity and verification details we are required to collect under credit and anti-money-laundering law.
  • For Members who introduce friends: your account details, the introductions you make, and the bank or charity account we pay any thank-you to.
  • How you use our website and portal, so we can keep them secure and working well.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you wherever we can — for example, when you complete a form, create an account, or speak with one of our brokers.

If a friend has introduced you to us, we receive your name and contact details from them — and we only act on an introduction where the person making it has confirmed that you agreed to be contacted. With your consent, we may also collect information from credit providers, lenders and other third parties (such as your accountant or a credit reporting body) where it is needed to assess or arrange your loan.

Why we collect it

We collect, hold and use your personal information so that a licensed broker can contact you about a home loan, provide you with credit assistance, arrange and administer your loan, and run our referral program and any thank-you rewards. We also use it to meet our legal and regulatory obligations and to keep our services secure.

Giving us your information is voluntary. But if you choose not to provide it, we may not be able to help you with a loan, assess your needs, or administer a referral or reward for you.

When a friend has referred you

If someone you know introduced you to us, please be assured: the person who referred you never sees your contact details or any information you share with us. We keep that strictly between you and us.

The person who referred you may receive a thank-you from us if your loan settles, but you pay nothing for it and it never affects your loan, your rate or the advice you receive. A broker will contact you with no obligation, and if you would rather we did not, just tell us at first contact and we will stop.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. And we never disclose it to the person or business who referred you.

  • Our own brokers and staff who are helping you.
  • Credit providers and lenders, to obtain a quote, lodge an application or arrange your loan, with your consent.
  • Service providers who help us operate — for example valuers, conveyancers, document and identity-verification services, and our IT and email providers — under confidentiality obligations.
  • Regulators, courts or others where we are required or authorised to do so by law.

Marketing and your choices

We will only send you marketing about our products and services if you have consented to receive it. Marketing consent is always separate and optional — you can decline it and still use our services.

You can opt out of marketing at any time, either by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us. We will action your request promptly.

Overseas disclosure

Your personal information is generally stored and processed in Australia. If we ever need to disclose it to a service provider located overseas, we will take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How we keep it secure

We protect your personal information with technical and organisational measures designed to guard against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include access controls so that only people who need your information can see it, encryption in transit, and contact masking that prevents the person who referred you from ever seeing your details.

Automated decisions

We don't use automated processes to make decisions that significantly affect you without human involvement. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy and tell you.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Just contact our Privacy Officer at hello@payoffhomeloan.com.au. We will acknowledge your request within 1 business day and respond within 30 days.

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) — afca.org.au, 1800 931 678, GPO Box 3, Melbourne VIC 3001 for credit and financial-services matters, or to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) — oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992 for privacy matters.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to retain it under credit, anti-money-laundering and other applicable laws. When it is no longer needed, we de-identify or securely destroy it.
